Weapon
Tonfa

Info: Often refered to as a "police baton" this weapon is still a favorite for both martial artist and law enforcement.
Parts: The Tonfa is divided into three parts. A perpendicular handle seperates the main shaft into two different lengths. The longer shaft is generally used to protect the forearm and swing out for attacks while the shorter end is generally used for quick, direct strikes.
Concepts: Because of it's shape and various parts the tonfa lends itself well to numerous functions. The long end creates tremendous force when swung outwad making it great for both striking and defensive motions. The area between the short end and the handle is also used for several takedowns and joint manipulations.
