Cane

Cane

Info: Also called the "weapon of illusion" the cane was incorporated into Ken Zen Ichii by Soke Dwight Childress and is the primary weapon of Ken Zen Ichii system.

Parts: The cane is divided into three parts:
  1. the tip
  2. the shaft
  3. the crook
Concepts: As canes are not "sturdy" weapons care must be used when executing techniques to ensure the weapon is not damaged. This not only impacts the types of "strikes" made with the cane but also the areas on the opponent to which you strike. Striking motions with the cane are generally brushing or "reeping" motions with the tip of the cane to soft tissue (e.g eyes, nose, knee caps). The shaft and crook are also utilized in numerous techniques with emphasis again on not damaging the weapon.
